Welcome to Shop Girl Web!

I started this blog actually for myself to try and organize training content and information I found online about digital design. My background is in fashion and textiles and after 25 years in the industry (I started at 5, LOL) and starting a family I wanted a career change. I'm a mom and I wanted my new career to revolve around my family. After much research and consideration I thought starting a career in web design was a great portable career that would work around my family's schedule.

Since I had already earned a bachelor's degree going back to school to learn design was not an option since I didn't have the means to pay for a new degree. I figured I would search the web for free learning options and that is how this site started.
